We interrupt this blog break....

To wish Sam a Happy 7th Birthday!!

I can't believe he was born seven years ago today! We love our little fellow so much. He is such a sweet, fun, energetic, inquisitive, smart little boy. We are thankful for the blessing he is to us.

Maybe I'll get back to blogging one of these days. I don't know why I have no desire to do it...we have enough to blog about in this house that's for sure! I'm not sure if anyone even reads this anymore! But, maybe my motivation will return...along with my motivation to eat right...exercise more...

Wordless Wednesday...sort of

Here are some of my favorite shots of my kiddos lately. I sure love these boys...they are a tangible gift from God. Everyday I look at them and know His love for me.

Friday Favorites....FRIENDS!

A couple of weeks ago, the boys and I headed down to Raleigh to see the Davis family, some of our friends from Florida. Luke was Samuel's first best friend. They met in preschool in Florida and were inseparable. Their bond was so strong! It was a sad day when they moved from Florida the year before we moved. If you check out this post, you can see them almost two years ago.

I had been promising Samuel that we would visit them once we move back up here to Virginia. Well, I finally made good on my promise! It was a great few days catching up and hanging out with their four boys (they've added another sweet little boy, Ethan, since we last saw them!)

Our time with them was full of lots of running, laughing, wrestling, ball playing, food eating, bike riding... you know all the fun things boys like to do! I can't believe how well all seven boys played together! It was sad leaving (Samuel and Luke both shed tears), but we are already planning our next together! Here are some pictures from our fun trip!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

If you haven't checked out MckMama's blog, you need to click HERE and visit her. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Every Monday, MckMama does a Not Me! post. It is all about being human...sharing your imperfections as a mom (or whatever you may be in life). This is great for me this week, because lately I have been struggling with recognizing that there is nothing I bring to the table before God...but the GREAT thing in that is that Christ brings it all...I am clothed in HIS righteousness. Something I have to tell myself daily, hourly, minutely....

So, on a lighter side, here are some of my Not Me's!

A few days ago my television was not covered in at least a good inch of dust. And I most certainly did not write "Dust Me" on it. And then I most certainly did not go find my camera to take a picture of it. Nope, Not me! And then I did not let it sit there for a few more days before I actually dusted it...Not me!

In an attempt to get my boys to sleep later, I most certainly did not set the clock on their dresser fifteen minutes slower than mine. And of course, I did not stay in my bed until they came crawling in. When asked about why my clock was different than theirs I did not shrug my shoulders at them. Not me!

And of course, I did not bribe them to stay in their beds even later than their 7:00 wake-up time the next day. The bribe reward of course would not have been candy. And of course I would not give them this candy right after breakfast....and I never give them candy with high fructose corn syrup in it, nope, not me!

This past week I most certainly did not let a pile of clean laundry lay on Chris' side of the bed for a few days and nights. I certainly did not put hand weights under the pile of clothes to try and imitate what it feels like to have him sleeping there at night. I most certainly don't toss and turn throughout the night without him. Not me!

And of course when Chris is gone during the week, I absolutely do not ever allow a kid to sleep with me. I never, ever would dream of waking a sleeping child and carrying him to my bed to sleep with me. Not me!

I would never, ever admit my failings, challenges, shortcomings on a blog that anyone in the whole world could read if they wanted...no, NOT ME!!!!
